Our story

We've been on the merchant side of every fight we now win for you.

ClaimShielded was started in 2019 by three operators who watched too many good companies bleed quietly through their dispute pipeline. We built the tool we wished we'd had at our last jobs — and then we kept building.

Our origin

Founded by people who had to explain a 1.7% ratio to a board.

Our co-founders ran payments at a fast-growing DTC apparel brand. In one quarter, friendly fraud erased a year of marketing gains. The internal "solution" was a Notion doc and three contractors in different time zones. We knew there had to be a better way — and the vendors we evaluated were either overpriced agencies or undercooked SaaS.

So we left, raised a seed round, and spent fourteen months listening to risk leads at 80+ merchants before writing a single line of product. The result is a platform shaped entirely by the people who use it.

What we believe — written down so we don't drift

These are the four operating principles that decide every product call, every customer commitment, every feature we ship.

Principle 01

Outcomes over dashboards.

A pretty chart is useless if it doesn't change a number that matters. Every screen in our product is tied to a recoverable dollar.

Principle 02

Boring is a feature.

We do not want to be your favorite vendor relationship. We want to be the one you don't have to think about while it quietly returns more money than it costs.

Principle 03

Win rate is a moral commitment.

If a representment will lose, we tell you. If a refund is the smarter call, we route it. We are not paid to fight unwinnable cases.

Principle 04

Your data is yours.

Read-only access, scoped tokens, deletion on request, no resale, no model training on anything personally identifiable. Full stop.

Principle 05

Plain language always.

Our representment letters, our reports, our contracts. If it can't be read by a CFO on a Tuesday morning, we rewrite it.

Principle 06

Customers, then growth.

We have turned down deals that would have stretched our ops too thin. Our churn rate is 0.4% because we mean it.
